Arrow Lake Rec sites

Date of Ride Report: Sept 7, 2014

Ride Report Details: Left Shelter Bay with the intention of doing the West Mosquito FSR / Blackie Rogers loop via Arrow Park. Ended up trying to visit most of the Recreation sites on the West Side of the Arrow Reservoir South of Pingstong Creek staying North of Whatshan Lake. Stopped in at Catherine Lake Rec Site, Mosquito Lake Rec Site, after a detour on the Rioulx FSR got to Caribou Lake Rec Site, then visited Larson Lake Rec Site and finally Caribou Lake Rec Site, before stopping in at the Eagle Bay Rec site on the way home. The Larson Lake rec site had a bit of garbage strewn by a fire pit (which we piled neatly into the fire pit for the next group to burn), other than that all the sites were very clean and in excellent condition. Only Mosquito Lake and Eagle Bay were occupied with the Caribou Lake site having recent visitors.

This was a road riding trip on a clear warm day. The route that we took would be suitable for all riders. As we were generally on some of the main FSR’s extra caution is always required as industrial or tourist traffic could be around any corner. In total our trip was 170 Km.
